Artist Statement

Back to Main Menu Peter Walls / Artist Trained as a fine art printmaker I am engrossed with process.  The process of looking, collecting, exploring, decoding, deconstructing, and constructing are all fused in the creation of each work. I have two projects underway at this time: Landscapes are and always have been important for me. And with my move to Hampshire this year an even more urgent desire to explore my new terrain! Second, in a way also involves landscape but on a more personal level as I use encaustic and mixed media to record my "play" with elements of the natural world. I use what I find on my explorations to create works in the studio that speak to me in a greater manner than in the specific place and time I found and collected them.
